Social and Domestic Support

Providing support to fit your exact needs

Supporting you with your needs

There are many aspects to care and at Westcountry Home Care we can provide a helping hand in all areas. This can include helping with little odd jobs around the property, supporting people within the local community, companionship and domestic support, to name a few.

WHAT IS SOCIAL AND DOMESTIC SUPPORT?

Social and Domestic Support enables a person with special needs to stay living in the comforts of their own home. It might be for people who are getting older or are chronically ill, recovering from surgery or people with disabilities. We can offer support with personal care like bathing and dressing, attending social activities, shopping and more.

How Can We Help

Domestic

We are able to support with, but are not limited to, domestic tasks around the house such as laundry, cleaning, hoovering, waste management and meal preparation.

Shopping

Sometimes carrying out the shopping is not possible for people. We can provide a shopping visit during which you are welcome to join the carers, promoting independence and choice.

Although the option is given, it’s not essential. The carer can complete a list with you and go and fetch the items. Upon returning they can then support to put the shopping away in the correct places within your home.

Companionship/Social

Accessing the local community and getting out and about can be difficult at times. Westcountry Home Care is able to support individuals to access social events or provide a sitting service so that family members and friends can attend social events.

Westcountry Home Care can bring activities to you such as baking materials, flower arranging, board games, memory books, newspapers and provide a simple companionship visit.

If you require different length visits on different days or require someone to attend hospital appointments or get you out and about that is something we are able to help with.
