Registered Manager Robyn's comments:

My name is Robyn Hendy, and I am the Registered Manager for Alexandra’s Community Care, Truro and Penryn offices. I first started with the company in 2017, starting as a Community Carer in and around Truro.

I carried out on-call tasks for a period of time before applying for the Deputy Manager’s role - and was successful! I worked for a year as a Deputy Manager enjoying the extra responsibility when I covered for the Manager. This enabled me to take over as Manager of the Truro branch in September 2021.

Alexandra’s is a great place for career progression and the company really encourages individuals to work on their professional development.

Alexandra’s offer a wide range of support and to enable you or a loved one to remain in your own homes as independently as possible, we offer as little as 30 minutes per week to several visits daily.

Our carers are all trained to a high standard by our own training manager to enable us to be able to support people with various complex needs. We are located right in the centre of Truro city and will endeavour to provide a caring efficient service. Our team is your team.

Update Sep 2023: Robyn is currently on maternity leave with Teona providing management maternity cover.

SUPPORTING TEAM

I’ve been working for Alexandra’s for 3 years and was promoted to Team Leader in March 2022, and now I am the Deputy Manager in 2023 and providing Maternity Cover as Manager.

I’ve previously worked in a hair salon and found it unrewarding and I went on to work in a nursing home and found my passion in taking care of people who can no longer take care of themselves and assisting them with their independence.

I found my vocation by working in the community, which I really enjoy and thrive in. I enjoy working as part of a team and support my team in any way I can.

I have two sons aged 10 and 6 who are my world and enjoy going on family adventures with my time off.

Teona

Acting Manager

I’ve been working for Alexandra’s for 13 months now, was promoted to Team Leader September 2022 and in late 2023 Acting Deputy Manager to cover Teona during Robyn's maternity leave.

I previously worked in the finance sector, due to covid I felt I wanted to do more! I have found a real passion in care, absolutely love my job and building such great relationships with my team and service users.

Outside of work I have my 2 year old blue Staffordshire bull terrier which I rescued from the RSPCA, where we go on lovely walks at the beach or woods.

Hana

Acting Deputy Manager
I started working for Alexandras in 2021, after making a big change from hospitality and realised I have found my passion in care.
Since being here I have been supported by my managers and my colleagues, so much where I enjoy the challenges in the Job and making a difference to peoples life's. I got the position of Team Leader in July 2023 and have enjoyed the new challenges I have been faced with, also enrolling in my Level 3 to expand my knowledge.
I like the fact with Alexandra's your always supported in every way possible. There are so many opportunities in care, work's around my personal life. We are like one big family here in the Truro branch, i couldn't think of a better place to work.
I enjoy going out with my partner for long walks and going to the beach, i enjoy meeting my friends. I enjoy going to see my horses and spending time with them and seeing my family.

Olivia

Team Leader

I started to work for Alexandra's in August 2017 in Falmouth/Penryn branch office. In 2018 The office had to relocate and subsequently the two branches separated, which at the time the hours were more at the Truro Branch so I came across to work for them. I have always worked in administration, however never in the healthcare sector. I have always felt appreciated supported by my managers and colleagues. Which makes office a great place to work.

I started my career in the care sector in 2018 and came to work for Alexandra's in July 2021 and it's been the best decision I made I have been fully supported by my managers and team members I really enjoy going out each day and making a huge difference in the service user's daily life's I have taken on the role of doing out of hours and applied for the team leader role in November 2023 and was over the moon when I was offered the role and have enrolled to do my level 3 and have now started to do my driving lessons with the support of my managers. I'm a mother to 4 children who are my world.

Kayleigh

Team Leader
I have been working for Alexandra's Truro for 2.5 years, I came into the job a complete newbie, I had no idea what doors it would open for me. I found new confidence in working alone and with others, by supporting people in their own homes. I really love how much enjoyment  my job gives me, and I feel really empowered when I can support people who are going through really tough times. I have recently been promoted to Team Leader so I'm learning lots of new skills  which I'm really enjoying, and seeing the other side of the company and how things work. I have a daughter who is 4 and a son 3, who keep me rather busy but love spending time and spoiling them when I'm not working.
