Manager Shelly Goslin comments:
The Redruth branch started in 2012 after taking over a failing business. It has grown from strength to strength, covering areas in Camborne, Pool, Redruth and surrounding areas.
Our team has a real family feel, with an average of 40 staff working from this branch alone. The team are passionate about fundraising for local charities which we do each year. Last year we managed to raised £3000 in 9 months to allow us to purchase a 24/7 community accessible defibrillator.
The efforts of the team have been recognised and we have been lucky enough to be shortlisted for the ‘Team of the year’ for the 2019 Care and Support awards.
"Comments from people and relatives included; "They are so caring, absolutely brilliant", "Its everything I hoped my care would be" and "It's like having friends round, it's not like a service."
In 2019 the Redruth team were nominated for the Home Care Worker or Team of the Year by the Care and Support Awards, coming a fantastic second.
As part of their fundraiser for a community Defibrillator, the Redruth team took part in ‘It’s a Knockout’, wearing silly costumes and tackling the inflatable obstacle courses on a very wet and windy day!
Another fundraising challenge – alongside FLEET Cornwall, the team took part in a sponsored cycle ride around Wadebridge to raise money towards the charity and their community defibrillator.
A chilled affair for the Redruth team, 2019’s summer event took place at the beach. There were games, a few people went in the sea (it was freezing, typically!), and our very own chef cooked up the BBQ!
